Beware of Old Hickory Sheds in Cincinnati – Terrible Experience with Price Gouging and DishonestyI rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Old Hickory Sheds in Cincinnati was so appalling that I feel compelled to warn others. I had been in contact with the owner, Don, about purchasing a shed from his lot, and after confirming the price and agreeing on the terms, everything seemed set. However, things took a sharp turn for the worse when Don suddenly tried to increase the price by 10%—blaming it on tariffs and corporate that supposedly affected the cost of the shed.Here’s the issue: The shed in question was built before September 4, 2024, and had been sitting on the lot for an extended period of time. If anything, it should have already been priced at the original agreed-upon rate. Tariffs should not have impacted this shed in any way. Don has no idea what his sheds are priced at and supposedly had a couple price increases that he never told me about until I was ready to sign the contract. It became clear that Don’s price increase had nothing to do with any actual cost changes and everything to do with his assumption that I could afford the higher price.To make matters worse, Don never informed me of the price hike until after he had visited my home and inspected the lot. This is absolutely unprofessional and dishonest behavior. It feels like he was trying to take advantage of me by springing the higher price on me once he thought he had me locked into the deal.I would strongly advise against doing business with Old Hickory Sheds. Don’s lack of transparency, unethical pricing practices, and general disregard for honoring agreed-upon terms make this a company I would never trust again. Save yourself the headache and find a more reputable shed supplier.
